Public affairs firm Kirra Consulting expands into Bay Area
Kirra Consulting, a Los Angeles–based public affairs and government relations consulting firm, has expanded its services into the Bay Area with the addition of Anthony Harrison.
The government relations expert will manage the firm's local practice in Northern California, serving clients dealing with municipalities (San Francisco, Oakland, San Jose) and local and regional agencies.
Harrison will focus on Kirra’s renewable energy practice, which supports clients interacting with energy providers and municipal utilities in California.
"Anthony extends our local government relations coverage to Northern California, adding deep knowledge of renewable energy and strong relationships in the public and private sectors to our capabilities in that market," said Alec Evans, partner at Kirra Consulting. "Anthony's hands-on experience with implementing sustainable projects at the local level will be an asset to our firm and to our clients.”
Based in San Jose, Harrison brings more than 12 years of government and campaign experience at the federal, state, and local levels. He specializes in government and regulatory affairs strategy, and has expertise across renewable energy, clean transportation, utilities, and sustainable development.
He joins Kirra from Chargepoint, the world’s largest electric vehicle charging company, where he was a director. At Chargepoint, he oversaw smart city public policy, procurement, and market development for the top 25 US metropolitan areas.
Before that, he worked in policy and regulatory affairs at Stem Inc., an AI-driven energy storage company. Prior to Stem he was a policy director at the California Energy Efficiency Industry Council and a business manager in cleantech at Apple. He holds a BA in political science from San Jose State University and is a certified LEED Accredited Professional.
"Kirra's collaborative approach works particularly well within the renewable energy market where success often depends on bringing a diverse set of interests together to solve complex issues," said Harrison. "I am looking forward to helping the companies that Kirra represents accomplish their goals."
Kirra was founded in 2010 and supports businesses in their interactions with all levels of government. The firm provides services in government advocacy, business development, crisis management, and media relations.
