Pharma consultancy Putnam Associates expands into New York and London
Putnam Associates, a Boston-based strategy consulting firm serving the biopharmaceutical industry, has opened offices in New York and London.
Founded in 1988, the company delivers product commercialization strategy to biopharmaceutical, diagnostics, and medical devices clients. The company has over 130 employees across offices in Boston and San Francisco.
Putnam was acquired last year by healthcare giant UDG, a Dublin-based provider of clinical, commercial, communications, and packaging services. The $88 million deal saw the firm join UDG’s advisory business.
Following its acquisition by the global heavyweight, which books €1.3 billion in annual revenues, Putnam has announced that it is expanding into New York and London with physical locations.
The move is part of a drive to increase its global footprint and offer more localized support to current and future clients, according to a statement from the firm. The expansion will also enable Putnam to better tap into the rich talent in the two metropolises.
The firm said it is currently in the process of building out its teams in New York and London, and is currently hiring entry level associates, experienced associates, and consultants.
“We are truly excited to be able to expand our presence in these two cities. Both offer unique opportunities for us to be able to work even closer with existing and potential clients, as well as attract highly qualified team members,” Remco op den Kelder, CEO of Putnam Associates, said. “As we are looking to build out our teams in the two offices we will look to recruit at every level, from senior leaders and experienced strategy consultants to graduates looking to start a career in the sector.”
