Healthcare consulting firm e4 hires Phil Summers to lead ERP division
E4, a Reading, PA-based healthcare sector consulting firm, has hired seasoned consultant Phil Summers to lead the firm’s new enterprise resource planning (ERP) solutions and services line. He is based in the Washington, DC area.
Summers brings more than 30 years of experience in healthcare project management, technical development, and management consulting to e4, where he will lead the company’s business enterprise systems practice. Summers will be tasked with building out the firm’s client ERP solutions.
“With many hospitals focusing on the optimization of their Enterprise Resource Planning systems, e4 has expanded our service offerings to better serve our client base,” said Jim Hennessy, CEO of e4. “By adding Phil’s expertise and unique insights, we are now able to bring industry-leading ERP solutions and capabilities to our clients and the market.”
E4’s ERP practice will provide advisory, implementation, optimization, training, and managed services. The firm’s ERP professionals will help healthcare clients optimize finance, HR, and supply chain, among other functions.
Summers previously spent eight years at IT consultancy Logic Healthcare, where he was president & CEO. Prior to that, he spent two-and-a-half years at IT consultancy MaxIT Healthcare (now Leidos), where he served as national practice director. Summers also spent 11 years at Ingenuity Solutions Group, where he served as president, and focused on ERP consulting and project management.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Alaska Fairbanks.
“ERP systems are more relevant today than they ever have been within healthcare facilities,” Summers said. “Attracting and maintaining the highest caliber talent, running the most optimized and efficient supply chain, effectively reporting on the financial health, and integrating with clinical systems are all key components to sustaining growth in today’s healthcare market.”
E4 delivers healthcare consulting services in the areas of electronic health records, health information management, revenue cycle management, and information technology. The firm also advises on program and change management, leveraging Lean methodology and proprietary engineered software. Founded in 2004, the Pennsylvania-based consultancy has 400 employees.
