Amplifi expands into Europe with acquisition of UK-based Comma
Amplifi, a Dallas-based data management consulting firm, has acquired Comma Group, a London-based data consultancy.
Founded in 2015, Comma provides advisory, delivery, and support services for data management, governance, and quality. The firm partners with technology firms such as Stibo Systems and Semarchy to help companies manage and unlock the power of their company and customer data – driving better decision-making and customer experience.
Comma has more than 50 employees, according to LinkedIn. The firm works with clients in retail, manufacturing, finance, and healthcare.
Amplifi’s acquisition of Comma will expand its presence into Europe. The transaction, for which terms were not disclosed, will also broaden Amplifi’s capabilities with complementary service offerings in data quality, migration, and innovative R&D.
Comma will become a wholly owned subsidiary of Amplifi, and will be rebranded as “Comma, a part of Amplifi.”
The move follows a pandemic-accelerated growth in demand for digital and data consulting services, as firms have increasingly turned to digitization to improve their operations and stay competitive.
“This is the first step in Amplifi's growth-through-acquisition strategy and lays the foundation for our European expansion efforts," said Corey Mellick, CEO of Amplifi. "Joining forces with Comma Group positions us as one of the largest master data management (MDM) consultancies anywhere, and we look forward to working with Comma's strong management team, who are among the industry's best thought leaders and data experts."
Founded in 2008, Amplifi provides data management strategy consulting, solution delivery, and system optimization. The company leverages MDM platforms from EnterWorks, Stibo, and Salsify to help companies better manage data in the domains of product, customer, supplier, location, parts and materials, and digital assets.
Amplifi has completed more than 1,200 engagements to help clients optimize their data operations in manufacturing, distribution, and retail. The firm works with companies in healthcare, industrial, automotive, consumer goods, and restaurants.
The consultancy has more than 80 employees, according to LinkedIn, with offices in Dallas, Atlanta, Chicago, and Los Angeles.
"Today, more than ever, organizations need to use data to compete strategically or they will get left behind,” said Leigh Wells, Comma Group's CEO and cofounder. “Becoming part of Amplifi will allow us to accelerate our global vision and provide our current and future customers with a more comprehensive set of services to address today's market needs."
