Empirical Consulting Solutions (ECS), a Philadelphia-area management consulting firm, has acquired OpX Partners Inc., a boutique operations consultancy.

Founded in 2017 and based in Downington, PA, OpX helps small- and medium-sized manufacturers improve their operations. The firm provides consulting on manufacturing processes, operations productivity, process transformation, engineering, organization design, and health & safety.

OpX is headed by founder Chris DiMascio, a consultant with more than 30 years of experience in engineering and operations. He has expertise developing operational excellence programs, improving manufacturing efficiencies, and leading new plant design and construction.

Prior to founding OpX, DiMascio spent 25 years at chemicals giant Johnson Matthey, where he was latterly divisional operations director for the global process technologies business. Before that, he was group director of operational excellence.

DiMascio has an MBA and a BS in mechanical engineering from Penn State University.Empirical Consulting Solutions buys OpX Partners DiMascio will join ECS as a partner in the firm’s operations practice.

Founded in 2013 and based in the Philadelphia suburb of Narberth, ECS provides consulting services across finance, operations, sales and marketing, and human resources. The firm has more than 20 employees, according to LinkedIn, and works with a wide range of industry clients.
