Craig McNeil, an experienced innovation and product transformation leader, has joined Capgemini’s digital transformation and design consulting business – Capgemini Invent – as president for North America.

Based in Dallas, McNeil will oversee the business in the US, Canada, and Mexico as it charts a new phase of growth.

The Capgemini Invent brand launched in 2018, fusing the France-based IT firm’s consulting division with various design, product innovation, and digital marketing agency acquisitions. Capgemini last year made a significant deal for Frog Design, a 1,100-person global design consulting firm whose legacy includes designing the Apple II computer and the Sony Walkman. The firm also acquired Cambridge Consultants, a global innovation and R&D consultancy with 900 employees.

Capgemini Invent today has a global team of more than 10,000 strategists, product and experience designers, brand experts, data scientists, and technologists.

McNeil will help Capgemini Invent and its sub-brands establish a “differentiated approach” from competing consultancies that emphasizes its “enhanced expertise in human-centered design and breakthrough innovation at the physical edge of digital transformation,” according to a company press release.

McNeil brings more than 20 years of experience in management consulting and entrepreneurship, with a focus on building new digital business units inside large companies.

He previously spent 18 years at rival firm Accenture, where he most recently served as North America leader of the Industry X.0 practice, which helps manufacturing companies drive digital transformation and innovation. Before that, McNeil was managing director of the firm’s global internet of things (IoT) offering and its North America mobility practice.

He also previously held leadership positions at two fintech startups, serving as CEO of Mozido and CTO of Trumpet Mobile.

McNeil has a master’s degree in telecommunications and a bachelor’s degree in neuroscience from University of Colorado Boulder.

"I am excited to join Capgemini Invent and lead its next wave of growth in the US, Canada, and Mexico, with ambition in Customer First, Enterprise Transformation, and the Intelligent Industry,” McNeil said. “Capgemini Invent offers a rich brand ecosystem in North America, notably with enhanced expertise in human-centered design with frog and breakthrough innovation and R&D at the physical edge of digital transformation with Synapse Product Development. From our designers to R&D specialists, to data analysts and strategy consultants – our differences combined offer a wealth of creativity and competencies under one innovation and transformation powerhouse.”
