Public sector consulting specialist Booz Allen Hamilton has named Kristine Martin Anderson as chief operating officer.

Based in the firm’s McLean, VA headquarters, Anderson will focus on accelerating Booz Allen’s operational performance and transforming its business model.

“Kristine is an exceptional business leader. She has demonstrated the ability to grow and manage technology-first businesses, develop talented leaders, help senior clients transform, and integrate acquisitions, all while consistently delivering strong financial results,” said Horacio Rozanski, Booz Allen’s president and CEO. “As COO, Kristine will work closely with me as well as other leaders to drive operational performance, accelerate the execution of our strategy, and help us gain efficiencies that lead to faster growth.”

Anderson has been at Booz Allen since 2006, most recently spending four years as head of the firm’s civil sector, which serves federal civilian departments and agencies. Prior to that, she led the health business, expanding Booz Allen’s position across public health, life sciences, healthcare delivery, and payer projects in federal health agencies.

Before joining Booz Allen, Anderson spent nearly 14 years at CareScience, a software solutions company, where she was VP for operations and strategy. While at the firm, Anderson oversaw the launch of products including the country’s first web-based clinical decision support system for hospitals and the country’s first health information exchange.

Anderson has an MBA and a bachelor’s degree in neurobiology from the University of Pennsylvania.

“Booz Allen has the benefit of both incredible leadership talent and strong market positioning across the entirety of government. As COO, I look forward to working with a broad group of those leaders to unlock the next level of performance,” said Anderson.

Booz Allen provides consulting in digital solutions, engineering, analytics, and cyber to military, government, and business clients. The firm has nearly 30,000 employees and annual revenue of $8.4 billion.

The firm earlier this year welcomed back Raynor Dahlquist as SVP of its national security business.

Booz Allen also recently sold its Middle East and North Africa (MENA) management consulting and cybersecurity practices to Oliver Wyman.
