Gregg Hamilton-Piercy named head of Baker Tilly's new valuation practice

Gregg Hamilton-Piercy has been appointed leader of Baker Tilly US’ newly formed valuation practice.

In the role, Hamilton-Piercy will be tasked with forming a borderless team of valuation experts to support the firm’s audit practice. He will also develop a streamlined model to help clients through complex valuation assessments in multiple areas, including transactions, financial reporting, fund level, disputes, and tax.

“Valuation is certainly not new to Baker Tilly. We have incredible valuation professionals in pockets across our entire organization,” said Angela MacPhee, managing partner for consulting at Baker Tilly US. “Gregg’s job is to connect and collaborate.”

Hamilton-Piercy joined Baker Tilly as a principal in 2021 through the acquisition of The MFA Companies, a Boston-based accounting and consulting firm. He was at MFA for a decade, latterly serving as partner-in-charge of the valuation and financial planning and analysis practice.

Before that, Hamilton-Piercy held senior valuation roles at KLR and Atlantic Management. He began his career at TD Bank, where he was a commercial account manager.

Hamilton-Piercy has a bachelor’s degree in finance and accounting from McGill University and is a chartered financial analyst and certified in business valuations by the American Society of Appraisers.
