Trinity Hunt Partners invests in MarksNelson's advisory business

Trinity Hunt Partners, a Dallas-based mid-market private equity firm, has invested in the advisory business of MarksNelson, a Kansas City-based accounting and consulting firm.

As part of the transaction, the firm will operate in an alternative practice structure, with MarksNelson LLC providing attest and assurance services and MarksNelson Advisory LLC providing business advisory, tax, and non-attest services.

MarksNelson was founded in 1968 and has approximately 150 employees, according to LinkedIn. The firm’s advisory practice provides services in analytics and automation, economic development, enterprise resource solutions, financial due diligence, incentives, litigation, location strategies, succession planning, tax, technology, and valuation.

The Kansas City firm works with clients in industries including real estate, insurance, manufacturing and distribution, and construction. MarksNelson is the 146th largest accounting and consulting firm in the US, according to IPA, with $30.9 million in annual revenue.

Trinity Hunt’s investment in MarksNelson Advisory is the initial investment in its new advisory services platform. The PE firm will support the platform’s growth with acquisitions, expansion of service capabilities, acceleration of organic growth, and investment in talent and technology.

Trinity Hunt has $1.7 billion in assets under management and focuses on middle-market business, healthcare, and consumer services companies. The firm targets companies with $10 million+ in annual revenue and $2 million+ in Ebitda.
