Altman Solon, a management consulting firm focusing on the telecom, media, and technology (TMT) sector, has promoted Diane Leung and Kemper Pierce to partner.

Based in the firm’s Boston headquarters, Leung has been at Altman Solon since 2019. She leads the analytics innovation practice, which leverages AI, data engineering, business intelligence, and geospatial mapping to help clients improve go-to-market strategy, competitive analysis, infrastructure deployment, marketing, and customer value management.

Leung has more than 15 years of consulting and analytics experience. She previously was director of data science & analytics at Acxiom, a leading database marketing company, where she led development for data products and managed a 15-person team.

Before that, Leung was a senior manager in advanced TV analytics at The Allant Group, which was acquired by Acxiom.

Earlier in her career, Leung worked at economic consulting firm Compass Lexecon, where she focused on antitrust and litigation analysis for energy clients.

She has a master’s degree in marketing science from Columbia University and a bachelor’s degree in economics from Wellesley College.

“Diane has been critical in our efforts to create the most robust and sophisticated Data & Analytics program in the industry, allowing us to develop customized analytics strategies for all of our global TMT clients,” said Rory Altman, managing partner at Altman Solon. “Transforming data into actionable insights has always been a big part of what we do, but the work Diane and the AI team do has enabled us to fully integrate data analysis into our consulting services.”

Based in New York, Pierce has been at Altman Solon since 2013. During his time at the firm, he has advised numerous telecom and technology clients on strategy, sales, network deployment, and M&A, as well as investor clients on buy- and sell-side due diligence.

Pierce has particular expertise in wireless and towers, fiber, and data center infrastructure in the Americas.

Prior to Altman Solon, Pierce spent three years at ConnectEDU, a venture-backed education technology platform, where he was director of partnerships. He began his career at Symmetric, a lower middle-market private equity firm, where he sourced and evaluated investments in TMT and business services.

Pierce has a bachelor’s degree in American history and foreign policy from Dartmouth College.

“Since joining the firm in 2013, Kemper has consistently driven value for our global corporate and investor client base,” said Steve Conway, CFO of Altman Solon. “Kemper’s cross-sector experience has and will continue to help grow key areas of focus for our firm in the future. We look forward to seeing the impact he can help drive in his new role as Partner.”

Altman Solon was created in 2020 through the merger of two strategy consultancies specializing in the TMT sector – Boston-based Altman Vilandrie & Company and Munich-based Solon Management Consulting. In 2021, the firm expanded further with the addition of Venture Consulting, the largest Antipodean TMT consultancy.

The firm today has over a dozen global offices and more than 650 employees, according to LinkedIn.
