Propeller receives Women's Business Enterprise National Council certification
Propeller, a Portland, OR-based management consulting firm, has received a national certification as a Women’s Business Enterprise from the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC).
“At Propeller, we’re proud to be a majority-women firm serving a client base primarily composed of women in a sector that’s traditionally masculine,” said Amy Weeden, co-founder and CEO. “I am honored that Propeller has joined the esteemed group of women-owned businesses with WBENC certification and excited about the opportunities it provides to work with organizations that value diversity as strongly as we do.”
Founded in 1997, WBENC is a leading third-party certifier of women-owned businesses – with more than 17,000 Women’s Business Enterprises nationwide. The organization also certifies municipal, state, and other entities.
WBENC’s certification process includes an in-depth review of the business and a site inspection to confirm the company is at least 51% woman-owned, operated, and controlled.
As a Women’s Business Enterprise (WBE), Propeller will join a national network that includes targeted business opportunities, education and development programs, and networking and mentorship with thousand of women entrepreneurs. WBENC also brings members increased visibility in corporate and government supply chains – which often turn to WBE companies to fulfil supplier/contractor diversity initiatives.
Propeller was founded in 2012 and has 230 employees, according to LinkedIn, and offices in Portland, San Francisco, San Jose, Dallas, and Minneapolis. The consultancy provides services in business and operating model strategy, digital transformation, operational excellence, supply chain optimization, ecommerce, CX design, organizational design, change management, people strategy, program management, and technology implementation, among other areas.
The firm primarily serves clients in technology, retail, energy and utilities, healthcare, and the public sector.
Propeller has won Best Workplace awards from Fortune and Great Place to Work, as well as several recognitions from the Portland Business Journal, including CEO of the Year, Fastest-Growing Private Company, and Most-Admired Company.
