Chartis acquires HealthScape Advisors
Chartis, a Chicago-based healthcare consultancy, has acquired HealthScape Advisors, a Chicago-based healthcare payer consulting firm.
Founded in 2009, HealthScape works with payers across all segments, including commercial, Medicare, Medicaid, ACA, and federal. The firm has practices in strategy, growth & innovation, healthcare value creation, operational performance improvement, transaction support, and technology-enabled solutions. HealthScape has 160 employees.
Chartis’ acquisition of HealthScape will bolster its healthcare payer capabilities and builds on its 2022 acquisition of Crankfrog, a national payer advisory firm.
HealthScape will rebrand as “HealthScape, A Chartis Company.” Kyle Stern, managing director, will continue to lead the HealthScape team.
“Our complementary strengths position us as a market leader in advising health plans and, together, we can positively impact how care is delivered," Stern said.
Chartis supports clients across the healthcare landscape, including providers, payers, technology innovators, retail firms, and investors. The firm has practices across strategy and M&A, care delivery transformation, financing transformation, communications, and clinical quality solutions.
Chartis has over 1,000 employees across offices in Chicago, Boston, New York, and San Francisco.
“The challenges facing healthcare today in enabling affordable coverage, simplifying the consumer experience, and providing equitable access to high-quality care cannot be simply addressed by providers or payers in a silo," said Greg Maddrey, president of Chartis. "Effective insight and guidance on how to address these challenges requires working across the healthcare ecosystem. With the addition of the HealthScape team, we will be able to offer that integrated insight to our clients."
Lincoln International, a Chicago-based investment bank, served as financial advisor to Chartis on the transaction.
