Accenture buys procurement consultancy Insight Sourcing
Accenture has signed an agreement to acquire Insight Sourcing, an Atlanta-based strategic sourcing and procurement consulting firm.
Founded in 2002, Insight helps clients optimize costs when sourcing and negotiating contracts for direct and indirect materials, services related to capital expenditures, and energy procurement management. The firm has depth of expertise in cost takeout strategy powered by category and supplier market intelligence.
Insight specializes in working with private equity clients and their portfolio firms across consumer goods, retail, technology, and industrials. The firm serves over 60 private equity firms, including 10 of the 25 largest funds in North America.
Accenture’s acquisition of Insight includes the firm’s suite of more than 40 technology procurement tools and Insight Energy, its energy procurement and management business.
Approximately 220 consultants will join Accenture’s sourcing & procurement practice within its supply chain & operations function. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Accenture recently acquired two other US procurement consultancies: New York-based Impendi in January 2024 and Chicago-based The Shelby Group in November 2023.

Accenture last month acquired Navisite, an Andover, MA-based digital transformation and managed services firm.
