Pablo Spiller joins BRG as managing director in New York

Pablo Spiller, PhD, has joined the international arbitration and cross-border disputes practice of Berkeley Research Group (BRG) as a managing director based in New York.

Spiller is the Jeffrey A. Jacobs distinguished professor emeritus of business and technology at the Haas School of Business, UC Berkeley. He has also held professorships and research positions at the University of Pennsylvania, University of Illinois, Stanford University’s Hoover Institution, and the National Bureau of Economic Research, and has published 10 books and 110+ academic articles.

Spiller’s consulting and expert testimony spans over 180 litigation and international arbitration cases involving contractual and treaty disputes, where he delivered opinions on damages, economic interpretation of contracts, and regulatory issues.

He received his doctorate in economics from the University of Chicago.

Spiller joins BRG from Compass Lexecon, where he spent 13 years as a senior consultant and worked alongside Manuel Abdala, who recently also joined BRG’s international arbitration practice. Before that, he spent 18 years at LECG, where he was a director and co-chair of the international arbitration practice.
