ACA Group acquires Encore Compliance
ACA Group, a governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) consultancy focusing on the financial services industry, has acquired Encore Compliance, a New York-based compliance software firm.
Founded in 2023, Encore provides solutions for AI-enabled surveillance for expert network chaperoning and research calls. As the US SEC intensifies its regulatory scrutiny of asset managers’ usage of expert networks, Encore’s GenAI-powered software helps compliance teams monitor and protect against material non-public information (MNPI) risks.
Encore provides comprehensive compliance-reviewed call summaries and transcripts and automatic transcription and review of expert calls. The AI technology identifies potential areas of concern to strengthen proactive risk management.
“The acquisition of Encore Compliance represents a significant milestone for ACA Group,” said Patrick Olson, CEO of ACA Group. “This strategic move not only expands our suite of Managed Services but also underscores our dedication to integrating AI-driven solutions that enhance compliance and operational efficiency for our clients.
ACA has been providing expert network call chaperoning for over six years. The Encore acquisition will give ACA’s managed services practice an additional level of AI-enabled review for its call chaperoning offering.
"Our AI-enabled services will seamlessly complement ACA’s existing offerings, providing comprehensive and efficient compliance solutions,” said Scott DePetris, co-founder, chairman, and CEO of Encore Compliance. “Together, we are poised to redefine the industry standard for expert call management and compliance risk mitigation.”
ACA is the GRC consulting platform of Genstar Capital, which acquired and merged the New York-based company with Foreside in 2021. The firm has more than 1,250 employees across 8 offices in the US, UK, Malta, and India advising financial services clients on compliance, AML and finance crimes, ESG, cybersecurity, Brexit implementation, and distribution.
