Digital startup expert Jeff Schumacher joins EY-Parthenon

Jeff Schumacher, co-founder of BCG Digital Ventures, has joined EY-Parthenon, the strategy arm of Big Four accountancy EY.
Based in Los Angeles, Schumacher will oversee the development of a platform that “transforms fragmented data into predictive growth strategies for clients,” EY said.
Schumacher brings more than 25 years of leadership experience in business strategy, innovation, investment, venture development, and operations.
He has co-founded 100+ early growth companies, including software firms NAX Group and Growth Protocol. Schumacher also co-founded BCG Digital Ventures, which swiftly became one of the world’s fastest-growing venture investment and incubation firms.
Earlier in his career, Schumacher was global managing director and founder of incubator Booz Digital (acquired by PwC) and a partner at McKinsey & Company, where he founded and led the customer lifecycle management solution center.
He also previously served as chief marketing officer and chief strategy officer of defunct retailer Sports Authority.
Schumacher has a bachelor’s degree in business administration and management information systems from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire.
“I am thrilled to join EY to shape and scale a revolutionary growth solution. The platforms we are generating together uniquely combines neural networks and symbolic reasoning to generate explainable, real-time insights,” Schumacher said in a LinkedIn post. “Businesses that are not designing themselves around growth may quickly become dinosaurs. We help them create a model and a platform to grow so they can win at Enterprise Moneyball.”
EY says the appointment builds on its commitment to AI-driven value creation. The firm recently pledged to invest $250 million in its Edge platforms – which are built on Microsoft/OpenAI tech and provide consultants and clients with AI-supported insights and benchmarks to optimize strategies and transactions.
