Crowe US appoints John Kurkowski as managing partner for audit and assurance

Crowe US, a national mid-market accounting and consulting firm, has appointed John Kurkowski as managing partner of its audit and assurance business, effective July 1, 2025.

Kurkowski will succeed Wendy Cama, who has led the firm’s audit business line for the last five years. Cama will retire from Crowe next March after a career spanning 30+ years.

Based in Crowe’s Chicago headquarters, Kurkowski has more than 30 years of experience providing audit and financial advisory services to clients across manufacturing, distribution, and services.

He has been at Crowe since 2002 and currently serves as leader of the private equity industry practice. Before joining the firm, he spent 14 years at Arthur Andersen, where he was a partner.

Kurkowski has a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Illinois Society of Certified Public Accountants.

"His understanding of the current market dynamics and how the role of auditors continues to evolve will be instrumental as we execute on our Crowe strategy." 

Crowe is the 12th-largest accounting and consulting firm in the US, according to IPA, with $1.3 billion in annual revenue. The firm has more than 5,000 people across 40 offices.

Crowe last month welcomed Gary Kozlowski as a partner in its financial services consulting practice.
