McKinsey and AWS launch McKinsey Amazon Group

McKinsey & Company and Amazon Web Services (AWS) have launched the Amazon McKinsey Group (AMG), a new collaboration to help organizations achieve enterprise-scale transformations.

AMG will integrate business strategy, advanced technology, and hands-on implementation in a single operating model to help clients execute on cloud, AI, and automation transformation initiatives.

The group combines McKinsey’s industry and functional knowledge, technology expertise, and change leadership with AWS’ global cloud infrastructure, broad AI model choice, and purpose-built tools for deploying AI agents at scale.

AMG will deliver project through an end-to-end model – from defining vision to full scale implementation. The group’s McKinsey and AWS teams will work as one to eliminate handoffs that can hamper progress and results.

“The complexity of enterprise AI transformation – from choosing the right models to managing organizational change – requires partners who can deliver both technical depth and business expertise,” said Ruba Borno, vice president, global specialists and partners, AWS.

The group will use a commercial model tied to outcomes – targeting transformation projects with $1 billion or more in client impact.

AMG has already worked on successful engagements, including one with a major automaker. Together, teams built an AI-enabled supply chain operating system that leverages AI-based demand forecasting, digital twins, and real-time supplier collaboration. The transformation achieved 85% forecast accuracy, reduced inventory by 60%, and improved customer satisfaction by 15%.
