Employment litigation firm Savina Consulting acquired by DCI Consulting Group
Denver-based employment litigation and HR boutique consultancy Savina Consulting has been acquired by DCI Consulting Group, a Washington DC-based HR risk management firm.
Savina Consulting supports both plaintiffs and defendants in cases related to age, race, and gender discrimination, as well as Equal Pay Act and Fair Labor Standards Act cases. The consulting firm regularly provides expert testimony in the above areas in both state and federal courts.
The firm also provides HR consulting services aimed at avoiding discrimination litigation and reducing adverse impact and liability. Savina’s offerings in this area include legally defensible selection and promotion systems that reduce adverse impact, best practice workshops, and performance evaluation design and implementation.
Finally, in the era of #MeToo and #TimesUp, Savina offers harassment risk audits that give a clear picture of the current state of an organization’s vulnerability to harassment claims. The audit give clients a baseline from which to build necessary HR policy changes that promote a "culture of prevention." Taken together, the firm’s discrimination and harassment prevention offerings deliver critical improvements that can protect companies from devastating reputational and financial damages.
Savina was founded by Angie Rosenbaum, managing director, and Barbara Nett, principal consultant. The two experts have more than 50 years of combined experience in employment litigation support and HR consulting. Their past clients include Fortune 100 companies and numerous government agencies.
DCI made the strategic acquisition to gain enhanced Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) litigation support and expert witness capabilities.
DCI focuses on EEO compliance consulting, providing discrimination analyses, affirmative action plan development and implementation, employee selection and test validation, and Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs audit and litigation support.
"This acquisition will allow DCI to rapidly expand our already growing litigation support practice by leveraging expertise from some of the very best in the industry to better support our clients across a wide variety of litigation support scenarios," David Cohen, DCI president, said.
Rosenbaum, Nett, and the rest of the Savina team will join the Personnel and Litigation Support Division at DCI, which is headed by Director Eric Dunleavy.
"The Savina team brings an excellent balance of industrial-organizational psychology expertise, high stakes litigation support pedigree, and HR consulting skills grounded in the practical realities of HR practice and risk reduction,” Dunleavy said. “DCI looks forward to the increased capacity of expert services we are able to provide attorneys and their clients."
