Digital consultancy Perficient partners with Dallas Mavericks
Perficient, a St. Louis–headquartered global management and technology consulting firm, has entered into a partnership with the NBA’s Dallas Mavericks.
Under the partnership agreement Perficient will “receive a variety of marketing and corporate engagement benefits,” a release from the firm stated.
Though sports sponsorships are generally more popular with B2C (business-to-consumer) firms rather than B2B companies like professional services, big consulting firms still engage in the practice to further their brand recognition and potentially snag a few new clients.
Earlier this year, HR consultancy Korn Ferry became the new umbrella sponsor of the developmental tour for the PGA Tour, taking over the naming rights from Web.com. Tax advisory firm Ryan, meanwhile, became the Dallas Cowboys’ first official tax partner in a five-year deal.
“It’s exciting to add a fast-growing, successful, and dynamic global consulting firm like Perficient to our partner family,” Ryan Mackey, Dallas Mavericks EVP, said. “Perficient’s already enabling many of Dallas’s largest and most recognizable brands to thrive in the digital era, and we’re looking forward to helping them gain additional awareness in our market and beyond.”
The Mark Cuban-owned NBA franchise joined the league in 1980, and since then has had a nearly perfectly balanced win-loss record in the regular season (0.499% wins). Dirk Nowitzki propelled the Mavericks to their first and only championship in 2011. The team has failed to make the postseason for the past three years.
The Mavericks are the eight-most valuable franchise in the NBA, worth approximately $2.25 billion.
“Dallas is a thriving business market, rich with Fortune 1000 enterprises digitally transforming to deliver innovative and amazing customer experiences,” said Bill Davis, vice president of marketing and communications at Perficient. “We’re thrilled to enter into this relationship with the Mavericks, an organization well-regarded for their intense focus on customer experience and also deeply committed to the Dallas metroplex region.”
Founded in Austin in 1997, Perficient has since grown to have $500 million in annual revenues and over 3,000 employees. The firm delivers strategy and operations consulting services, as well as offerings in technology, data, cloud, design, and marketing. The company works with Global 2000 and enterprise clients across the globe from offices in North America, Europe, India, and China.
The firm has Texas offices in Dallas and Houston, with a further 24 US locations.
