Management and technology consultancy Booz Allen Hamilton has announced a pandemic resilience program of more than $100 million to support its 27,000 employees and the wider community.

The program includes benefit program enhancements for employees dealing with health, childcare, and Covid-related issues, as well as a pledge of job security through to July 1. The firm also committed to delivering funding, assistance, and tech expertise to aid vulnerable populations, military families, veterans, and healthcare workers.

The initiatives will be financed by reprioritizing planned spending and investment. The reallocation will allow the firm to deliver additional benefits such as enhancements to the dependent care program, flexible work, training, and other options to address employee challenges at home. The budget reallocation includes the elimination of many events and other overhead expenses, as well as a hiring freeze in non-billable departments.

“These moves will help protect the health and financial security of our people, their loved ones and their communities during a very uncertain, difficult time,” said Horacio Rozanski, Booz Allen’s president and CEO. “Supporting our people empowers them to fully support our clients in this time of critical need. Our business is our people, and this is just the right thing to do.”

The firm’s independent Booz Allen Foundation will lead the philanthropic side of the program. The initial giving will support veterans and military families through the COVID-19 Military Support Initiative and healthcare workers and vulnerable communities through the CDC Foundation. The program will also support vulnerable local populations through the Feeding America network of food banks.

Booz Allen also plans to contribute pro-bono work, in-kind contributions, and volunteer time to help combat the effects of the virus.

The McLean, VA–based firm is one of the foremost providers of management and technology consulting services to US government clients, with $6.7 billion in annual revenues. The firm is currently working on numerous US government engagements, including programs directly related to Covid-19 recovery.
