Chicago-based RTM Engineering Consultants has acquired RCE Consultants, a boutique, Laguna Woods, CA-based civil engineering firm.

Founded in 2004, RCE Consultants provides civil engineering design services to public and private sector clients in the Western US and internationally, specializing in water, wastewater, public works, private land development, industrial, residential, and water quality.

RCE has approximately 25 employees and annual revenue of $7 million, according to Zoominfo.

RTM’s acquisition of RCE will broaden the firm’s civil engineering capabilities, as well as increase its presence in California, according to RTM CEO Tony Mirchandani. "The RCE team will not only bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to RTM, but they are a perfect fit culturally,” he added.

Prior to the acquisition, RTM had a dozen offices across Illinois, Iowa, Wisconsin, Florida, Texas, Missouri, Kansas, Colorado, California, and Washington.

RTM was founded in 1981 and provides civil, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection engineering design services to clients in a range of industries, including industrial, residential, healthcare, education, government, restaurant and hospitality, retail, and transportation. The firm is licensed in all 50 states.

RTM has approximately 190 employees and annual revenue of $26 million, according to Zoominfo.
