Bridgepoint Consulting to expand in Houston

Texas-based management consultancy Bridgepoint Consulting is expanding its Financial Consulting and Professional Search practices into Houston. The strategic efforts of the financial practice will be led by Ross Goolby and Lucas Walters, newly promoted Directors at the firm. The Professional Search practice in Houston will be led by Kristi Kershaw, a seasoned executive search professional and Director at Bridgepoint’s Austin office.

Bridgepoint Consulting is a Texas-based management consulting firm, with 140 employees spread across offices in Austin, Dallas, and Houston. Founded in 1999. Bridgepoint’s team of savvy consultants has particularly deep expertise in supporting clients with financial operations, information technology, and risk & compliance. The firm completed 300 client engagements in 2016.

Bridgepoint was itself acquired by human resources consulting heavyweight Addison Group last year. Headquartered in Chicago, Addison has 5,250 employees across 22 US offices. The consultancy specializes in professional staffing and search services.

Now, Bridgepoint has announced the expansion of its Houston Financial Consulting practice, as well as the expansion of its Professional Search practice into Houston. The financial practice expansion includes the promotion of CFO consultants Ross Goolsby and Lucas Walters, who have been named Directors. Ross Goolsby joined Bridgepoint in 2015 as a CFO consultant. He has deep experience in capital markets, including IPOs and venture capital, international expansion, and M&A. Goolsby has served as the chief financial officer of numerous firms, including SigmaTel, Healthtronics, Valence Technology, and Calxeda. Prior to joining Bridgepoint, Goolsby was a principal at Evolve Business Consulting. He holds a BS in Accounting from the University of Houston.

Lucas Walters joined Bridgepoint as a CFO consultant in 2016. He has extensive experience in numerous executive-level functions, including accounting, finance, HR, IT, and facility management. Walters has industry experience in energy, manufacturing, software, and technology. Before joining Bridgepoint, Walters was the VP of Finance for SpareFoot, a self-storage listing company. Prior to that, he was Client Finance Director at Consero, and VP of Finance at Cypress Industries. Walters holds a BS in Business Administration from Concordia University, as well as an MBA from the University of Texas-Austin. He is a certified CPA in the state of Texas.

Brigepoint’s Professional Search practice expansion in Houston will be spearheaded by Kristi Kershaw, a Director at the firm’s Austin office since 2014. Kershaw will support the practice in placing candidates for executive roles in finance, accounting, audit, tax, treasury, and HR.

Kershaw has extensive experience in accounting and finance, as well as executive search.  She worked in the field of auditing and financial consulting for over a decade, eventually serving as the CFO of Country Holding Corporation and Texas Country Bank. Kershaw then transitioned to executive search, serving as Senior Executive Recruiter at Bridgepoint from 2007-2009. Afterwards, she was Director of Recruiting for Central Texas at Resources Global Professionals, and then Head of Talent Acquisition at ArthroCare Corporation before rejoining Bridgepoint in 2014 as Director of Professional Search. Kershaw has a BS in Accounting from Indiana University, and is a CPA.

Bridgepoint will operate its Houston Financial Consulting and Professional Search practices from Addison Group’s Houston, Texas office on the 10th floor of 1001 McKinney.


Leadership advisor YSC Consulting appoints Eric Pliner as CEO

London-based global leadership consultancy YSC has appointed Eric Pliner as its new CEO, replacing Robert Sharrock, who held the role for five years. Pliner, previously the firm’s Americas leader, will remain based in New York City.

For 30 years, YSC Consulting has been providing leadership advisory services to clients across a wide range of industries. The firm provides services in the areas of leadership strategy, performance, research, and analytics. YSC also has offerings in organizational leadership and CEO & board advisory. The firm’s approach is grounded in the behavioral sciences, allowing clients to better align business strategy and leadership.

In 2017, Graphite Capital complete a private equity investment in the firm, which has allowed YSC to continue its rapid expansion across the globe. Today, the firm has 19 offices across the Americas, EMEA, and APAC regions, staffed by 225 professionals with backgrounds in clinical psychology and organizational behavior, among other areas.

YSC’s incumbent CEO, Robert Sharrock, will now move into the roles of managing director of YSC’s board and CEO of the advisory practice. Eric Pliner, who has been with the firm since 2010, will step into the role of CEO. An expert in organizational behavior, talent management, and development, Pliner joined the firm as a senior consultant, working his way up to managing director and head of YSC Americas in 2014.

Prior to joining YSC, Pliner was director of organizational talent management & development at the NYC Department of Education, and was an adjunct instructor in the curriculum & teaching department at Hunter College in New York. He holds an MBA in management, organizational behavior, and human resources from the City University of New York – Baruch College.
