Perficient acquires software development firm Overactive
Perficient, a St. Louis-headquartered technology consulting firm, has acquired Overactive, a Montevideo, Uruguay-based software development consulting firm.
Founded in 2008, Overactive has nearshore software development locations across Uruguay, Chile, Argentina, and Colombia. The firm’s nearly 700 software developers work with clients in a range of industries, including financial services, healthcare, technology, and business services on projects spanning experience design, mobile, application management, data science, and enterprise evolution, among other areas.
Overactive’s recent client projects include working with Scotiabank to make its banking app more intuitive, dynamic, and modern, and working with a Fortune 500 logistics company to rebuild its critical business systems infrastructure.
Perficient’s acquisition of Overactive will further expand its nearshore delivery capabilities, strengthening its offerings in custom software application design, development, testing, and support. The Overactive team will further expand Perficient’s presence in Colombia, and will add new locations in Uruguay, Argentina, and Chile.“Our multi-shore, fully-integrated, global delivery approach continues to be a key driver of growth, and a compelling differentiator in the market,” said Jeffrey Davis, chairman and CEO of Perficient. “With the addition of Overactive, we now have more software and digital development talent offshore than onshore. Our global talent, coupled with our strong US presence, enables our clients to scale quickly, innovate rapidly, and reduce costs to better meet rising customer demands, transform their business, and outpace the competition.”
More than half of Perficient’s 6,000+ employees are based in the firm’s international delivery centers in India, China, South America, and Eastern Europe. The firm has more than 20 offices in the US, as well as international offices in Toronto, Canada, and Oxford, UK.
The transaction builds on Perficient’s September acquisition of Talos Digital, a Colombia-based software development and e-commerce specialist with approximately 175 employees.
“For more than 13 years, Overactive’s experienced project teams have been dedicated to delivering excellence for our clients, and we’re excited to join forces with Perficient – a trusted leader in providing end-to-end digital solutions to the world’s leading enterprises,” said Nicolás Chiappara, CEO of Overactive, who joins Perficient in a key leadership role. “Together, we’re bolstering our software development services while supporting the organization’s expanding dominance in Latin America and beyond.”
Perficient advises organizations on strategy, product development, customer experience and digital marketing, platforms and technology, and data, among other areas.
The public company has seen solid growth as the Covid-19 pandemic has further accelerated enterprise demand for digital consulting services. The firm’s Q2 2021 revenues increased 26% year-over-year to $184.1 million, while adjusted Ebitda increased 48% to $39.0 million. Perficient is expecting 2021 revenues of between $710 and $723 million.
