Baker Tilly adds ACG to corporate tax practice

Baker Tilly US has acquired ACG Certified Public Accountants, a Bay Area-based corporate tax consultancy. The deal is slated to close on December 1.

Led by former Big Four partners, ACG focuses on delivering tax services to high-tech and transportation companies. The firm’s client roster is primarily composed of companies audited by the Big Four accounting firms, with approximately 20% being publicly traded companies and 80% having international operations.

ACG’s consulting practice has offerings in corporate tax planning, executive tax planning, international, M&A, state and local tax, and enterprise zone. The firm’s compliance practice has offerings in tax returns, tax provisions, accounting services, bookkeeping, HR services, and financial statement compilation.

The Pleasanton, CA-based consultancy has a team of 50 professionals.

Baker Tilly’s acquisition of ACG will further expand its corporate tax services capability in Silicon Valley. The deal builds on Baker Tilly’s recent purchase of True Partners Consulting, a tax consultancy with over 200 people across nine offices coast-to-coast.

With the two acquisitions, the mid-market accounting and consulting firm says it is now one of the largest providers of corporate tax services in the Bay Area market.
