Bain & Company announces global partnership with SAP
Bain & Company on Thursday announced a global partnership with SAP SE, the German-headquartered enterprise resource planning (ERP) software giant.
Bain and SAP have together developed a strategic approach to drive successful cloud business transformations, including ERP. The approach pairs Bain's expertise in C-suite advisory and strategic implementation with SAP's market-leading software and cloud solutions.
Most companies (93%) are modernizing their technology, with 83% doing so in the cloud. However, research from Bain estimates that only 6% of business are on track to achieve most or all of their modernization goals.
“While technology is at the heart of every strategic enterprise transformation, Bain's research shows that large transformations have higher rates of failure," said Eric Garton, senior partner and head of global capabilities at Bain. "As companies are faced with the pressures of having to continuously modernize their business models, leaders will need to invest in tech effectively to succeed. Bain and SAP will address and help solve the complex roadblocks that stand between clients and successful end-to-end solutions, while accelerating results."
Bain and SAP will partner to help clients build a strategic technology vision, integrate the optimal technology and processes for their goals, future-proof technology infrastructure, and establish effective change management and adoption across the organization.
“Together with Bain & Company, we're confident in the impact that this new framework will provide to customers," said Scott Russell, member of the executive board of SAP SE, customer success. "The power of setting the right transformation vision combined with proven process improvement methodology lays the foundation for technology that makes impact and scales with an enterprise."
Bain recently delivered its own migration to SAP S/4HANA Cloud across 47 countries. Working with SAP and select ecosystem partners, Bain evolved its operations with standardized and automated finance processes, faster data availability, and better real-time tracking of business performance. The Boston-headquartered firm also used the opportunity to upskill staff on fully mastering the new system’s functionality.
“We understand the value at stake when modernizing a large system like an ERP,” Garton added. “We know this represents a once-in-a-generation opportunity to change the way business is done – and to set the stage for the next phase of growth. More so, the strategic framework we developed and tailored to SAP solutions based on client work has been invaluable. We look forward to further scaling our framework to other leading enterprises that want to realize the full value of their modernization journey with SAP software.”
