Anuj Shah joins Stax as managing director and ESG practice leader

Anuj Shah has joined Stax, an M&A strategy consulting firm, as a managing director and leader of the new environmental, social, and governance (ESG) practice.

Based in Stax’s Boston headquarters, Shah will create and develop the firm’s ESG and impact strategy – launching offerings tailored to the private equity investment lifecycle.

He brings more than 20 years of experience in consulting and financial services. Shah has extensive experience in capital markets, particularly ESG and impact investing. He has expertise in formulating strategic frameworks spanning product development to GTM business development strategies.

Shah most recently was a partner at boutique ESG advisory firms Close Group Consulting and KKS Advisors. Before that, he founded and ran Linear Impact Advisors, a sustainable investing consultancy.

Earlier in his career, Shah spent 13 years in Morgan Stanley’s private wealth management division, latterly serving as executive director. He also spent four years in Lehman Brothers’ investment management division, where he was a vice president.

Shah has a master’s degree in international affairs from Columbia University and a bachelor of science from Boston College.

Stax specializes in commercial due diligence, value creation, and exit planning for private equity firms, portfolio companies, hedge funds, and investment banks. The consultancy has more than 300 global professionals across offices in Boston, Chicago, New York, London, and Colombo, Sri Lanka.
