UES expands Midwest presence with acquisition of CSI
UES, an Orlando, FL-based engineering and consulting firm, has acquired Consulting Services Incorporated (CSI), a Lexington, KY-based engineering and construction science firm.
Founded in 2009, CSI provides services in geotechnical engineering, drilling, testing, inspection, and environmental services. Its recent project work includes providing geotechnical engineering for the construction of LG&E and KU's Cane Run Station, a natural gas power plant, and quality testing services for the US Army Corps of Engineers' 19th Engineer Battalion's Facility.
CSI has over 50 employees, according to LinkedIn, and offices in Lexington and Cincinnati.
"With their addition, we're thrilled to expand services in Kentucky and Ohio and the surrounding areas," said Pat Donovan, head of the Midwest region at UES. "CSI's team of experts and suite of engineering and testing services complements our own, and together as Team UES, we will achieve our goal to be the premier engineering consultant in the nation."
The CSI transaction marks UES’ 26th acquisition since 2019. The privately held firm was itself acquired by BDT Capital Partners in 2021.
"We are excited to join UES in their pursuit of growth in the Midwest,” said Shayne Brashear, co-founder and president of CSI. “The ability to further our reach allows us to serve our clients at the highest level, while providing rewarding career opportunities for our people."
UES has nearly 4,000 people across 90+ branches in the United States. The firm provides expertise across geotechnical engineering, construction materials testing and inspection, building code compliance, environmental, and building envelope.
UES advises on projects in transportation, water and wastewater, data centers, energy, healthcare, education, residential, and more.
