AlixPartners makes several leadership appointments in turnaround practice
AlixPartners, a New York-headquartered management consulting firm, has appointed Eric Koza as global co-leader of turnaround & restructuring services (TRS) and John Castellano and Dave Orlofsky as co-leaders of TRS Americas.
Koza succeeds Joff Mitchell, who will move on to the role of global vice chair.
In his new role, Koza will together with co-leader Jim Mesterharm oversee a team of 500 professionals who advise distressed and underperforming companies and their creditors.
Koza is based in New York and has 25 years of industry experience, including 12 years at AlixPartners. He has deep expertise in restructuring, operations management, and executing transactions across multiple countries and diverse industries.
Koza has held roles in senior management, financial advisory, principal investing, and directorship across public and private firms.
He most recently served as co-leader of TRS Americas at AlixPartners. Before joining the firm, he was a director at Zolfo Cooper US (acquired by AlixPartners in 2018) and a founding partner at Verax Capital Partners. Earlier in his career, Koza was a partner in the alternative and global funds practice of W.R. Huff Asset Management.
He has an MBA from Boston University and a bachelor’s degree from Boston College. Koza is also a CFA charterholder.

Castellano has been with AlixPartners for nearly 27 years and has extensive experience guiding high-profile reorganizations. Orlofsky has over 25 years of restructuring experience and joined AlixPartners at the time of the Zolfo Cooper US acquisition.
