Opus expands operations into Bermuda

Opus Business Advisory Group, a London-headquartered consulting firm, has opened its first international office in Bermuda.

The British Island territory, which has no corporate or personal income taxes, is home to a high concentration of global insurance and financial services firms. Opus will focus on serving mid-market clients in those sectors on issues in corporate restructuring, insolvency, and forensic investigations.

The Bermuda office will be led by partner Valma Pipi, who joins Opus from Deloitte, where she was a director in the Big Four firm’s Hamilton, Bermuda office. She is a qualified insolvency practitioner.

“There is a growing need in Bermuda for insolvency professionals who can offer true specialist advice rather than broader consultancy services,” said Pipi. “We are bringing a fresh, hands-on style to the market; one that is grounded in international standards but deeply attuned to local needs.”

Opus in a press release said the Bermuda division will seek to nurture local talent and invest in long-term capability building in the Bermudian advisory and restructuring profession.

Opus has 36 partners and approximately 150 staff across 16 offices in the UK. The firm has practices in strategic advisory, restructuring and insolvency, forensic accounting, and equity.

“This launch marks an exciting new chapter in Opus’ international journey. We’ve always believed in the power of a personal, tailored approach, but with the strength of a broader team behind it,” said Tim Dolder, managing partner at Opus. “Bermuda offers huge opportunities, and under Valma’s expert leadership, we are perfectly positioned to serve both local businesses and international clients operating in this jurisdiction.”
