Accordion adds two senior managing directors to turnaround practice
Accordion, a New York-based financial consultancy focusing on the private equity sector, has hired Scott Pinsonnault and John Shepherd as senior managing directors in its turnaround and restructuring practice.
Pinsonnault and Shepherd bring extensive turnaround expertise in the energy industry, including power generation and distribution, transition energy, renewables, hydrocarbons, midstream, oilfield services, and oilfield manufacturing
Based in Dallas, Pinsonnault has nearly 30 years of experience in large and complex turnarounds. He has also served in interim management roles as CEO, CFO, and CRO.
He joins from AlixPartners, where he spent over two years as managing director. Prior to that, he was a senior managing director at Ankura and a director at Deloitte. Earlier in his career, Pinsonnault was a VP at GE Energy Financial Services.
He began his career as a geologist at Texaco.
Pinsonnault has an MBA from Tulane University, a master’s degree in geology and geophysics from Texas A&M University, and a bachelor’s degree in geology from St. Lawrence University.
Based in Houston, Shepherd has over 30 years of experience in corporate turnarounds, corporate finance, M&A advisory, and private equity.
He joins from Ankura, where he spent over four years as a senior managing director. Before that, Shepherd was a managing partner at Strata Energy Investments and a managing director at GE Capital.
Earlier in his career, he was an investment banker at Morgan Stanley focusing on oil and gas.
Shepherd has an MBA and BA from the University of Texas at Austin.
