Huron, a Chicago-headquartered management consulting firm, has acquired Treliant, a Washington, DC-headquartered financial services industry consulting firm.

Founded in 2005, Treliant provides consulting, implementation, staffing, and managed services for the regulatory compliance, risk, credit, financial crimes, and capital markets functions of financial services companies. The consultancy primarily serves banks, mortgage providers, and fintechs.

Treliant has 274 employees listed on LinkedIn and 10 offices across the US, UK, Poland, The Philippines, and India.

Huron says the acquisition will expand its commercial segment, its ability to serve clients in Europe, and its managed services offering. Financial terms were not disclosed.

“We are excited to welcome Treliant to the Huron team as we advance our strategy to grow Huron’s financial services capabilities and deliver even greater value to our clients,” said Mark Hussey, CEO and president of Huron. “Combining Treliant’s deep industry expertise and capabilities with Huron’s digital solutions creates a powerful platform to help financial institutions manage risk, comply with regulations, and modernize operations in an increasingly complex environment.”

Huron was founded in 2002 and is a public company traded on the Nasdaq. The firm has 6,500 employees across 20+ offices in North America, Europe, and Asia-Pacific.

Huron provides strategy, operations, and digital transformation consulting services to clients in healthcare and life sciences, education, public sector, financial services, energy, and manufacturing.

“Over the last twenty years, we’ve built a firm that is trusted in the financial services industry to deliver deep expertise, balanced approaches, and measurable results,” said David Samuels, CEO of Treliant. “Joining Huron enables us to scale and significantly expand our global advisory, managed services, and staffing solutions.”

Huron earlier this year acquired Eclipse Insights, an Atlanta-based revenue cycle consulting firm.
