Huron buys Axiom Systems’ payor consulting services division
Huron, a Chicago-headquartered management consulting firm, has acquired the payor consulting services division of Axiom Systems, a Frederick, MD-based healthcare IT firm.
Founded in 1996, Axiom focuses on core administration systems and digital transformation for payors and payor-provider organizations.
The firm has 110 people listed on LinkedIn, with the payor consulting services division having approximately 40 people. Following closure of the transaction, Axiom will “continue to provide its suite of products designed to simplify HIPAA eCommerce,” the firm’s site said.
The consulting division helps payor clients improve their operations, including claims administration, data transformation, and systems integration. It has expertise in implementing and optimization payor core administration processing systems, including TriZetto’s Facets, QNXT, and HealthEdge solutions.
“This acquisition enables Huron to better serve our healthcare clients seeking to modernize their claims platforms and leverage connected data to improve operational performance and member outcomes,” said Mark Hussey, CEO and president of Huron.
Huron provides strategy, operations, and digital transformation consulting services to clients in healthcare and life sciences, education, public sector, financial services, energy, and manufacturing.
The public company has 6,500 employees across 20+ offices in North America, Europe, and Asia-Pacific.
“We are thrilled to join Huron and continue to build on our mission to help payors modernize and transform their operations. We are excited to work together to bring an even greater portfolio of tech-enabled solutions to market across the healthcare continuum,” said Paul Lythcke, EVP at Axiom Systems.
Huron recently acquired Wilson Perumal & Company (WP&C), a Dallas-based strategy and operations consulting firm.
