BDC Advisors adds Peter Attwater as managing director

BDC Advisors, a Miami-based healthcare strategy consulting firm, has hired Peter Attwater as a managing director.

Based in Atlanta, Attwater brings more than 18 years of experience in healthcare strategy and M&A advisory.

In his new role at BDC, Attwater will support organizations throughout the full M&A lifecycle, from planning and diligence to long-term integration.

"As we support our clients in developing resilient strategies to navigate today’s challenges in healthcare, we’re delighted to welcome Peter to the BDC team,” said Andy Ziskind, MD, CEO of BDC Advisors. “His experience will help us continue to deliver an ROI on key strategic initiatives, including M&A as well as new models of affiliation and alignment for health systems and their aligned physicians."

Attwater has deep expertise in healthcare M&A, post-merger integration, and enterprise transformation for provider organizations. He has worked with academic medical centers, health systems, and physician groups on refining operating models, designing IT and shared services infrastructure, and driving synergy capture across transactions.

Attwater joins BDC from Deloitte Consulting, where he spent the last decade and was a senior manager. Before that, he spent six years with Triage Consulting Group, where he was a manager.

Attwater has an MBA from Vanderbilt University and a bachelor’s degree in business and psychology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

“Our clients are navigating unprecedented change—from consolidation and workforce challenges to rapid technology changes—and I look forward to partnering with them to shape a strategy that delivers efficient and effective scale, and delivers meaningful results for the communities they serve," Attwater said.

BDC Advisors was founded in 1990 and works with academic health systems and community, regional, and multi-state provider systems. The consulting firm has offerings in healthcare enterprise strategy and organization, payer-provider innovation, physician enterprise transformation, M&A and growth, and population health management.

BDC Advisors has 42 employees listed on LinkedIn.

The consultancy earlier this year hired Carrie Knowles-Atkinson as a principal in its payer-provider strategy practice.
