Forbes names HKA partner David Duffus as one of top CPAs for valuations
Forbes has recognized HKA partner David Duffus as a member of its 2025 America’s Top CPAs for Valuations list.
The inaugural edition of the list comprises 100 leading certified public accountants who are valuation experts. Candidates are identified through independent research, nominations, and CPA association recognitions and then assessed on experience, innovation, thought leadership, and service.

Duffus is based in Pittsburgh and has more than 25 years of experience focusing on litigation, forensic accounting, and valuation services. He has been retained as an expert on 250+ occasions and provided expert witness testimony in 120+ cases.
Duffus has valued businesses and ownership interests for stakeholder disputes, post-acquisition disputes, and bankruptcy matters.
He has been recognized by Lexology Index as a recommended expert in its financial advisory and valuation – quantum of damages and commercial litigation – expert witnesses categories.
Before joining HKA in 2020, Duffus spent nearly 17 years at Baker Tilly US, where he was a partner in the global forensics and litigation services practice. Earlier in his career, he spent nine years at PwC, where he was a senior manager.
Duffus has an MBA and a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Pittsburgh.
