BRG adds John McLean as managing director in healthcare practice
BRG, a Washington, DC-based management consulting firm, has hired John McLean as a managing director in its healthcare practice in Atlanta.
McLean brings more than 25 years of experience working with health system boards, executives, and clinicians on provider transformation, financial turnaround, operational improvement, and workforce-related strategies.
In his new role at BRG, McLean will co-lead the operational excellence team alongside David Wildebrandt. He will support healthcare organizations with strategic and operational solutions that address challenges in workforce, federal funding, and technology in care delivery.
“As providers manage unprecedented financial, workforce and operational roadblocks, I look forward to helping organizations translate strategy into sustainable improvements,” McLean said.
He joins BRG from Ovation Healthcare, where he spent a year as chief growth officer. Before that, McLean spent four years as a partner at Guidehouse and a year as a managing director at Alvarez & Marsal.
Earlier in his career, he spent 17 years with Premier Inc., where he was group vice president for health systems performance improvement advisory services.
McLean has a master’s degree in health systems from Georgia Tech and a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering from North Carolina State University.
“John brings a rare ability to connect strategy with execution at a time when healthcare organizations are being asked to do both – quickly and at scale,” said Rich Bajner, managing director at BRG. “As we continue to build out our broader healthcare platform, his experience in strategic transformation and AI-enabled workforce models will be critical to helping our clients adapt – and lead – in today’s ever-changing market.”
BRG last year welcomed Richard Bajner as a managing director and head of its integrated health solutions (IHS) practice.
BRG has 1,600+ employees across 40+ global offices providing expert and consulting services in disputes and investigations, corporate finance, and performance improvement.
