DXC launches engineering group with 11,000 people in 30 countries
DXC, a global IT consulting firm, has established DXC Engineering, a global division within its consulting and engineering services (CES) organization.
DXC Engineering will bring together 11,000 engineers across 29 countries to help clients design, build, and scale AI-powered products, platforms, and experiences. The division draws on resources from DXC’s $2-billion 2019 acquisition of Luxoft, a Switzerland-based digital strategy and software engineering firm.
DXC’s CES organization has 40,000 people, while the wider firm has approximately 121,000 people across 70 countries.
DXC Engineering combines the firm’s resources in AI software and product engineering, proprietary platforms, and industry expertise. For example, the firm’s automotive industry offering includes digital cockpit software, connected vehicle platforms, and autonomous driving technologies. In financial services, DXC supports bespoke software development across capital markets, wealth management, and commercial banking.
"We are in the early stages of the software-defined era, and the time is now for customers to turn R&D into software-defined intelligent systems that will help them win in the marketplace. DXC Engineering is a signal to the market and to our customers that we are elevating the importance of our IP – both human and digital," said Ramnath Venkataraman, president for CES at DXC.
"Our customers look to DXC to design, build, and operate intelligent systems at scale, especially in environments where failure is not an option, and DXC Engineering will accelerate that capability just at the moment it’s needed most in the marketplace.”
DXC last year launched AdvisoryX, a consulting group that focuses on helping clients solve strategic, operational, and technology challenges relating to AI.
