Illinois-based Veritas Risk Services acquired by OneDigital Health and Benefits
Illinois-based benefits and retirement consultancy Veritas Risk services has been acquired by Atlanta-headquartered One Digital Health and Benefits.
The deal continues OneDigital's streak of US acquisitions. In January, the employee benefits and human resources consultancy bought Colorado benefits and wellness consulting firm Cherry Creek Benefits. In fall 2018, One Digital bought benefits and HR consulting firms LMG International and Paradigm Group.
The transaction gives OneDigital its third office in the Chicago metropolitan area, with Veritas’ Downers Grove location joining offices in Warrensville and Chicago proper.
OneDigital was attracted to Veritas’ focus on exceptional client service. The firm, which acts as a broker, agent, and consultant in benefits and retirement, closely partners with its clients to maintain a high level of responsiveness, reachability (Veritas has a company policy of returning all client calls and emails by end of each day), and commitment to deadlines. The firm supports all areas of benefits, including administration, claims, compliance, and employee engagement.
Veritas’ leadership group, including managing principal Doug Truax, principal Bob Walsh, and regional vice presidents Sharon Schlenker, Greg Hopkins, and Kathy Smith, will continue working with their team to serve clients throughout the Midwest and the rest of the country.

Veritas will gain the expansive network and resources of OneDigital, which has an employee base of 1,400 people across more than 80 US offices. The team will have access to expanded HR expertise, custom benchmarking, and HR information solutions, among other advanced resources.

OneDigital expects to make more acquisitions of benefits and HR firms over the next two years as part of its expansion strategy.
