A.T. Kearney launches wine and spirits distribution report SipSource
Global management consulting firm A.T. Kearney has announced the launch of SipSource, a report that will provide market trends, insights, and guidance for businesses in the wine and spirits industry. SipSource is a partnership between A.T. Kearney, Wine & Spirits Wholesalers (WSWA), route accounting company Vermont Information Processing (VIP), and global measurement and data analytics company Nielsen.
Through SipSource, businesses will be able to observe and analyze channel and product segments, benchmark their own performance, and accurately plan for the future. The report will offer distributor depletion data, rolling 12-month volume trends, top brand lists, and a biannually updated Comprehensive Industry Leaders Sentiment Survey, which is conducted by A.T. Kearney.
“Through the work of A.T. Kearney and the Industry Leaders Sentiment Survey, SipSource offers trends and insights from industry insiders that supplements distributor depletion data with context and forward-looking views as to where the industry is going,” Sean Ryan, a partner and food and beverage sector lead at A.T. Kearney, said. “The survey gathers sentiments from executives in the supplier and wholesaler tiers on key trends shaping the industry and how they anticipate exogenous factors like cannabis impacting the industry. With this information, users of SipSource are able to gain knowledge and insight direct from the experts on the front line.”The report will be delivered via executive PDF and is available for purchase at “silver,” “gold,” and “platinum” levels. VIP will also offer online reporting via its alcoholic beverage industry-focused iDIG platform. Both PDF and iDIG reports will be updated quarterly. All information contained in SipSource is based on WSWA-membership depletion data collected by VIP.
“As leaders in the wine and spirits industry, WSWA is proud to partner with experts in data and research to launch SipSource – the first and only accurate and complete source of depletion data,” Michelle Korsmo, WSWA president and CEO, said. “Through product category and segment reporting, SipSource will provide better data and information across the industry, allowing users to gain specific insights such as how individual segments are performing across multiple on- and off-premise channels. SipSource is the first product of its kind and will be a benefit to the entire beverage alcohol industry.”
A.T. Kearney was founded in 1926 and is partner-owned. The firm has offices in more than 40 countries. VIP focuses on the three-tier beverage distribution system, which encompasses imports and production, distribution, and retail-level sales. Nielsen is a measurement and data analytics company that works with organizations around the world to provide clear views of consumer and market behavior.
