Maine Pointe adds Adam Smith to family office sector

Global supply chain and operations consultancy Maine Pointe has appointed Adam Smith as VP and industry partner in the firm’s family office sector. He will be based out of New York City.

Smith brings 25 years of experience in the private equity, investment banking, and family office industries to his new role at Maine Pointe, where he will help family offices drive portfolio investment opportunities. He has deep advisory experience across corporate strategy, finance, growth, M&A, board governance, wealth generation, and monetization.

Smith has served in or formed four private investment partnerships in lower-mid and mid-cap private equity, specializing in the areas of alternative investments, family offices, venture capital, and private equity.

In 2002, Smith founded investment firm Circle Peak Capital, which makes equity investments in high-growth or high-profitability private companies across a range of industries, including CPG, e-commerce, and real estate.

In 2013, he founded Big Sky Partners LLC, a venture corporate development company, and Family Office Private Advisors LLC, a consultancy which provides strategic advisory resources, deal sources, and merchant banking services to family offices, HNWIs, and holding companies. The consultancy focuses on operational excellence and corporate development activities.

Smith has partnered with or advised high-profile clients such as Carlyle Group, Bain & Company, and Credit Suisse.

He began his career on Wall Street in the early 1990s, working at Salomon Brothers, Columbus Advisors, Castle Harlan, CI Capital Partners, and Lehman Brothers.
