Rightpoint helps Raymour & Flanigan with e-commerce implementation
Rightpoint, a digital experience consultancy, has helped US furniture retailer Raymour & Flanigan launch its new e-commerce website.
While the pandemic has hammered the commercial furniture sector as many companies shift to remote workforces, demand for home furnishings has surged as consumers have been mostly stuck at home. This has been joined with a wider surge in home renovation activity as many households spruce up their nests.
Consumers are also expected to substitute holiday travel and outings with increased (12% more) non-gift purchases – including home/holiday furnishings and non-gift clothing.
The growth in home furnishings sales has been driven by a huge diversion to online purchases, as consumers avoid brick-and-mortar showrooms amid the global Covid-19 pandemic. This has pressured traditional retailers to spruce up their e-commerce channel as it becomes a more critical avenue for sales.
Raymour & Flanigan, the largest furniture retailer in the Northeast and seventh largest nationally, tapped experience consultancy Rightpoint to help it build a better website and shopping experience for its increasingly online customer base.
“Our goal continues to be to put our customer first and the new website gives them an extremely intuitive way to find merchandise, locate showrooms, learn about white glove delivery, schedule in-store appointments, purchase seamlessly, and more – helping to propel us into the future as the leader in omnichannel furniture and mattress retail,” said Beth Lee-Browning, director of user experience at Raymour & Flanigan.
Rightpoint built the new website on the Episerver platform.
“During the discovery phase, our team worked to dig deep into understanding Raymour & Flanigan’s business and the diverse audiences it serves,” said Adrienne Parker, senior account director, Rightpoint. “We visited stores, spoke with furniture consultants, learned their brand inside and out in order to deliver an unsurpassed customer experience that delivers an exciting and easy way to shop for the furniture to fill your home.”
