Ports America selects GEP software for procurement operations

Ports America, the largest US marine terminal operator, has selected GEP Smart procurement software to transform its spend analysis.

Ports America operates across more than 70 locations and 33 ports in the United States and handles approximately 19 million 20-foot equivalent units (TEUs) annually.

Prior to selecting GEP’s software, the company’s procurement data was fragmented across multiple sources, including non-purchase order invoices, purchasing card transactions, and travel and expense systems.

By using GEP’s AI-powered procurement software for spend analysis, Ports America will establish a unified spend intelligence foundation and gain visibility across all major spend categories.

The company will be able to identify and quantify savings opportunities across total spend, brings greater transparency and control across national operations, support strategic sourcing and negotiations with reliable data, uncover pricing inconsistencies, and equip site and production leaders with actionable insights.

GEP’s software suite includes GEP Smart, its procurement software product; GEP Nexxe, its cloud-native supply chain unified platform; and GEP Green, a platform for measuring and advancing sustainability.

Headquartered in Clark, NJ, GEP has over 5,000 people across 20+ offices and operations centers in the Americas, Europe, and Asia.
