LSL CPAs picks Fieldguide to integrate agentic AI into audit practice
LSL CPAs, an Irvine, CA-based accounting and consulting firm, has selected technology firm Fieldguide to modernize its audit practice with agentic AI.
Founded in 2020 and headquartered in San Francisco, Fieldguide provides an agentic AI platform for audit and advisory firms. The firm’s clients include KPMG, RSM, Grant Thornton, and Baker Tilly.
Aside from AI agents, Fieldguide also delivers software for engagement management, insights and analytics, and IT integrations.
The startup has raised $125 million in financing to date, and has more than 190 employees listed on LinkedIn.
Fieldguide will implement its engagement platform across LSL’s audit workflows – unifying planning, client collaboration, testing, and reporting in a single AI-native system.
“We don’t see AI as an efficiency tool; we see it as a way to rethink the audit workflow for both our team and our clients,” said Bryan Gruber, managing partner at LSL. “By embedding AI into the core workflow, we’re removing friction from the process, giving our auditors more meaningful work, and delivering a more connected, insight-driven experience for our clients.”
Fieldguide will embed purpose-built AI agents throughout the audit lifecycle, allowing LSL teams to automate tasks such as document review, evidence matching, and workpaper preparation. The technology company says that by centralizing workflows with its platform, accountancies can improve consistency, accelerate delivery timelines, and better align audit execution with client expectations.
“LSL is taking a thoughtful approach to modernizing audit by investing in AI to improve how work gets done across the entire engagement,” said Jin Chang, CEO and co-founder of Fieldguide. “By embedding agentic AI into their workflows, they’re building a foundation for more consistent delivery, stronger insights, and a better overall experience for both their clients and their teams.”
LSL was founded in 1929 and has more than 180 employees listed on LinkedIn. The Orange County firm provides tax, assurance, accounting, and advisory services to municipalities, privately held businesses, high-net-worth individuals, and nonprofit organizations throughout California and across the United States.
LSL has offices in Irvine and Sacramento, CA; Tempe, AZ; and The Woodlands, TX.
