Lauren Shin joins Korn Ferry as vice chairman
Lauren Shin has joined Korn Ferry as vice chairman of its board & CEO services and global consumer practices. She will be based in the human capital consultancy's New York office.
Shin brings more than a dozen years of experience in the search and advisory sector, as well as five years of experience in consumer and media industry strategy and business development, and five years in investment banking. Shin has deep expertise in the recruitment of C-suite and board leaders for the consumer sector – including fashion and beauty, omnichannel retail, and food and beverage. She also brings advisory expertise in leadership development and assessment, succession planning, and organizational transformation.
Shin previously spent four years at executive search firm Russell Reynolds Associates, where she was a managing director and leader of the North America fashion, beauty, and luxury practice. Before that, she spent nine years at Egon Zehnder, where she was a partner in the global fashion, beauty, and luxury practice – focusing on C-suite and board-level searches and leadership advisory.
Shin was also previously a managing director of global business development at woman’s apparel firm Liz Claiborne, VP of business development at NBC Universal, and VP of strategic planning at Ralph Lauren. Earlier in her career, Shin was a VP in Morgan Stanley’s media & communications M&A department.She holds an MBA from INSEAD and a bachelor’s degree in accounting and international business from New York University.
