Rimkus acquires New York-based Sullivan Engineering
Rimkus Consulting Group, a Houston-based forensic engineering and technical consulting firm, has acquired Sullivan Engineering, a New York-based building envelope consulting firm.
Sullivan Engineering helps property owners and managers successfully complete exterior restoration projects. The firm’s services include building envelope surveys, leak investigations, roofing and waterproofing, green roofing, historic preservation, façade restoration, and construction administration.
The firm serves residential, commercial, and institutional clients from its offices in New York, New Jersey, and Massachusetts. Sullivan has more than 60 professionals, according to LinkedIn.
Rimkus’ acquisition of Sullivan is part of the firm’s overall growth strategy, which includes scaling its building sciences capabilities.“Throughout this year, we’ve placed a large emphasis on growing our existing Building Sciences practice with the goal to provide more robust service offerings to clients,” said Curtis Brown, chairman and executive director, Rimkus Consulting Group. “Sullivan’s leading expertise in building envelope consulting makes them a highly sought-after company. We see in them the same level of commitment to client service that Rimkus strives for, making Sullivan a great partner moving forward.”
The Houston-based consulting firm last year greatly expanded its Canadian footprint with the acquisition of IRC Building Sciences Group, a building envelope specialist with approximately 150 people in 15 Canadian offices.
Rimkus this year bolted on M & E Engineering Consultants, a Toronto-based firm specializing in mechanical, electrical, and fire safety engineering for buildings.
“The Sullivan team has worked hard to establish ourselves as a leader in the building envelope consulting industry in the Northeast, and by joining a global firm such as Rimkus, we’re now able to expand our name and offerings to new heights. We’re excited for this next step in our company’s growth and look forward to what we can achieve together,” said Brian Sullivan, CEO of Sullivan Engineering.
Founded in 1983, Rimkus provides forensic engineering, technical consulting, and expert witness services to insurance companies, law firms, corporations, and government agencies. The firm has more than 750 people in 95+ offices across the US, Canada, and the UK.
