SBI, a Dallas-headquartered sales and marketing consulting and benchmarking firm, has hired Katrina Engelman as chief marketing officer. She is based in New York City.

Engelman brings more than 15 years of marketing experience to SBI, where she will drive the firm’s marketing strategy and brand recognition.

"Katrina's expertise is a critical addition at this time," said Mike Hoffman, chief operating officer at SBI. "Leveraging marketing is pivotal to meeting the high-growth vision we have for SBI. As SBI expands the breadth and experience of its team, Katrina will play a central role."

Engelman has extensive experience leading business-to-business (B2B) marketing for technology, finance, pharmaceuticals, retail, and professional research services organizations. She most recently spent half a year as chief marketing officer at Suzy, a New York-based market research firm. Before that, Engelman spent two years as VP and global head of brand at Gerson Lehrman Group, a financial and information services firm.

Earlier in her career, Engelman led client teams at several marketing and creative agencies, including BBH (Publicis), Rapp (Omnicom), Swirl, and Accenture Interactive.

She has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Auckland, New Zealand.

"I'm thrilled to join SBI during a time of transformative organizational growth. This is a great opportunity to apply my experience building corporate brands and kickstarting marketing programs to help elevate SBI's product and service development," Engelman said.

SBI (formerly Sales Benchmark Index) was founded in 2006 and received a significant investment from CIP Capital in January 2020. The firm advises companies on growth strategy (revenue model, go-to-market model, and customer experience) and growth execution (sales, revenue marketing, pricing and packaging, customer success, and talent). SBI also provides sales-focused data and benchmarking solutions.

The consulting firm has more than 100 employees and offices in Dallas and Amsterdam.

SBI earlier this year added chief financial officer Howard Reba, who is also based in New York.
