NTT Data Services, the Texas-based division of Japanese IT consulting giant NTT Data, has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Postlight LLC, a New York-based digital strategy, design, and engineering company.

Founded in 2015, Postlight helps global brands build digital experiences – with deep expertise building and shipping digital prototypes, platforms, and products. Postlight’s offerings include product strategy and design, platform architecture, and software engineering.

The firm has worked with leading organizations such as Goldman Sachs, Time Inc., and Bloomberg. Postlight has more than 130 employees, according to LinkedIn.

NTT Data’s acquisition of Postlight will strengthen its digital application development and modernization capabilities, adding particular expertise in high-end design with a customer experience focus.

“This acquisition is part of a deliberate plan to build differentiated digital engineering and design capabilities that help our clients rapidly deliver digital products into the marketplace,” said Wayne Busch, group president, consulting and digital transformation, NTT Data Services. “Postlight's focus on delivering the highest quality design strategy and advancing our creative design capabilities to clients across verticals including banking, finance, media and consumer, built to scale is second to none.”

Postlight’s clients will benefit from NTT Data’s deep innovation resources, including $3.6 billion in annual R&D investment and a global team of 5,000 research professionals.

Gina Trapani, CEO of Postlight, added, “We are delighted to join a top-tier technology powerhouse and together with NTT DATA, deliver beautiful, enterprise-scale digital solutions to our clients.”

The transaction is expected to close by the end of the month. Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLP served as legal counsel to NTT DATA and Clearsight Advisors served as exclusive financial advisor to Postlight.

The Postlight deal builds on NTT’s previous acquisitions of US-based application development firms Vectorform and Nexient in March 2022 and May 2021, respectively. The firm also last year bought Chainalytics, an Atlanta-based supply chain consulting firm.

NTT Data is one of the largest IT services firms in the world, with 139,500 global employees and $20.15 billion in annual revenue. The firm provides services in application development, business process outsourcing, IT infrastructure, and consulting. NTT Data’s practices include digital operations, cloud transformation, data intelligence and automation, customer experience, and cybersecurity.
