Clarkston Consulting launches website to track 10-year DEI goals
Clarkston Consulting, a Durham, NC-based management consultancy, has launched a website to track progress on its 10-year diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) goals.
Clarkston last year unveiled its 10-year DEI initiative, which spans four major pillars. The company is targeting representative firm composition by 2032, with demographics aligning with national averages on race/ethnicity, gender, and LGBT identity. Clarkston is also aiming for a representative partner group by 2032, matching the firm on the above categories.
The other two pillars are internal and external recognition for “trailblazing” DEI practices, with both internal and external parties identifying Clarkston as a leading firm embodying DEI values.
Within the 10-year goals are further three- and five-year short-term goals.
“Since we publicly launched our DE+I goals, I have been inspired by the firm-wide excitement and commitment to making true progress toward these initiatives," said CEO Tom Finegan. "These goals represent our collective pledge to foster a more diverse, equitable, and inclusive environment – one that our stewards can succeed and grow in, and one that is representative of our larger community and society."
Clarkston’s new DEI website will serve as a resource for stewards, clients, and community members – providing transparency and accountability on the firm’s efforts. The site will have regular updates with insights into specific workstreams and activities.
“Where firms or other businesses may be deprioritizing or reducing emphasis on DE+I, we're doubling down our pledge to making a more diverse, equitable, and inclusive business,” Finegan said. “Our firm began on a commitment to do the best for our clients, our stewards, and our business. This initiative is the continuation of that commitment and a model for other companies in the business and professional services industry to follow."
Clarkston ranked seventh on overall diversity in Vault’s 2024 list of the Best Consulting Firms for Diversity, with a score of 8.98 out of 10.
Founded in 1991, Clarkston has more than 450 professionals across offices in Durham, NC; Roanoke, VA; Atlanta, GA; Bridgewater, NJ; and Detroit, MI. The firm provides life sciences, consumer products, and retail sector clients with a broad array of business and technology consulting solutions.
