Ukrainian agriculture firm MHP taps American Global Strategies for advisory support

MHP, a Kyiv-based agriculture and food company, has hired American Global Strategies (AGS), an Alexandria, VA-based strategy consultancy.
AGS will advise MHP on expanding its export potential, unlocking new opportunities for integration into global markets, and enhancing food security worldwide, a press release said.
Ukraine is one of the world’s key food producers, serving as a major exporter to emerging markets such as Africa. The country’s agricultural sector has had to contend with extreme challenges arising from the Russian invasion, including periodic restrictions on shipping in the Black Sea. An extended interruption of Black Sea shipments could potentially lead to famine and political instability in certain food-insecure export markets in Africa.
MHP was founded in 1998 by Ukrainian businessman Yuriy Kosyuk and is currently listed on the London Stock Exchange. It has 36,000 employees and operates across agriculture, food production, and retail.
MHP manages 360,000 hectares of farmland in Ukraine and has production facilities in Ukraine and the Balkans, as well as subsidiaries in the Netherlands, UK, UAE, and Saudi Arabia.
The company is Europe’s largest poultry producer and a top-ten employer in Ukraine.
AGS is led by chairman Robert O’Brien, former US national security advisor. The boutique consultancy specializes in geopolitical risk assessment, international business strategy, defense, and security consulting.
AGS has a team of 23 professionals, including former senior US government officials and military experts with extensive experience in foreign policy, national security, and international trade.
