HKA appoints Ramon “Ray” de Legorburu as head of Americas investigations practice
HKA, a risk and disputes consulting firm, has appointed Ray de Legorburu as head of its investigations practice in the Americas.
Based in Miami, de Legorburu has more than 25 years of experience in forensic accounting, dispute resolution, and financial investigations. He has led investigations into FCPA violations, financial misrepresentation, embezzlement, and accounting malpractice for clients across construction, financial services, healthcare, media, and transportation.
De Legorburu has served as an expert witness at various trials and depositions, and has presented to the SEC on financial restatements for publicly traded companies.
He joined HKA last year as a partner. Before that, de Legorburu spent 13 years at EY, where he was a managing director and Florida forensics office leader, and four years at KPMG, where he was a supervising senior auditor.
He has a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Florida International University and is a certified public accountant.
“Ray’s appointment marks a significant milestone in the growth of our Investigations practice. His deep expertise, leadership, and client-first mindset align perfectly with our commitment to delivering trusted, high-impact solutions,” said Paul Ficca, partner and regional CEO, Americas.
HKA earlier this month appointed Alan Whitman, former CEO of Baker Tilly US, as chairman.
Headquartered in London, HKA has more than 1,000 professionals globally delivering services in risk mitigation, dispute resolution, expert witness, and litigation support. The firm focuses on the construction and energy industries.
“I’m excited to lead the Investigations practice across the Americas and work closely with our established team of experts, as well as our international colleagues, to expand HKA’s global investigations capabilities,” de Legorburu said. “I look forward to collaborating with our talented experts to deliver exceptional outcomes for our clients.”
